Claymores: The Great Medieval Sword

Posted on February 26th, 2008 in General

Claymores are medieval swords that can be categorized into subsets. Claymore, which means “great sword” in Gaelic, was a very great sword indeed. The two handed, or Highland, claymore was used to fight the English for two hundred years, starting around 1500. The basket-hilted claymore is so named because of the basket type of protection that surrounds the sword wielder’s hand. The Wallace Sword is a claymore sword used by the legendary Scot William Wallace. Wallace led the resistance against the English in the Wars of Scottish Independence during the late 1200s. These medieval swords usually have long blades and are rather weighty. They make an impressive item to any sword collection.

Many people enjoy golfing. Some do it as a fun pasttime. Others compete and even do it for a living. To be a good golfer, you must understand the biomechanics of your golf swing. Other people are dependent upon being able to swing the club and hit the ball far distances. This takes practice and effort. Airsoft…Not Just for the Boys!

Posted on February 7th, 2008 in General

Recently, I watched my husband and “the boys” play paintball on our annual camping trip. It looked like so much fun! It was like war games, or on a girlie level, “cat and mouse” tag. But eventually, they ended up with giant welts and bruises, and I remembered why I only bore witness to this game. Then I stumbled upon Airsoft BB Guns. I couldn’t wait to get my first gun! Not only was it fun to pick out, but really inexpensive. There were so many sizes and types to choose from, and ultimately I found the perfect one for me. Obviously, I told all “the girls” about them, and by the next camping trip, we were all armed. So while the “boys” nursed their welts and bruises, we had our cat-and-mouse fun completely injury free.

Golf Wear can Improve your Swing

Posted on February 5th, 2008 in General

it’s amazing that the new Sunderland waterproofs have really improved my golf when it rains. The company always seems to exceed expectation. Other manufactures try and imitate but I really like the quality and style they produce.

More and more top golf professionals are using this equipment and they only tend to use the stuff that works. Even if they are paid to use certain equipment it still has to be pretty good for them to commit to it.

We are blessed with so many top companies that I appreciate that many people will disagree however I have used these for years now and they are second to none.
