One thing to look for in a sports drink mix is the concentration of carbohydrates in the formulation of the drink. Repeated studies have shown that the optimal level of carbs in a sports drink is no less than six percent and no more than eight percent. At this range of concentration, the athlete will experience rapid fluid replacement, avoidance of dehydration, and overall improved performance.
