Internet Merchant Account Fees Matter

Posted on January 25th, 2008 in General

You want to set up an internet merchant account, but are you really ready? Have you done enough homework to feel like you have competent working knowledge of the process? Like chargebacks, for example. A chargeback happens when a cardholder disputes a charge. The fee levied against your business for this can be between $5 and $25 per dispute. And if your business gets too many chargebacks, and each provider has their own criteria for making this call, your service agreement could be cancelled. And that could make it difficult to establish new service with another company. Knowing things like this will make an e-commerce owner better able to make a wise card processing decision.
